Directions
From the intersection of M-28 and I-75 drive 7.5 miles west on M-28 to M-221/Brimley. Turn north (right) and drive 2.5 miles on M-221 to West Lakeshore Drive. Turn west (left) on South Lakeshore Drive and drive 2-miles to Bay Mills Resort and Casino. Park on the north side of the complex, near the boat launch.

Birding Information
From this site you are looking out over Waishkey Bay and the St. Mary's River beyond. This shallow bay offers shelter for migrating waterfowl as well as nesting pairs during the summer months.
Look for common loon, mergansers, common goldeneye, bufflehead, Caspian terns, great blue herons, pied-billed grebes, black ducks, ring-necked ducks and many others. In the late fall and early winter tundra and trumpeter swans congregate here. Ospreys and bald eagles nest nearby. With good binoculars, you might even see some osprey chicks on their platform nest!

The boat launch kiosk offers other information on local natural resources and history. Ask inside the resort for more information about the Bay Mills Indian Community or to use amenities. The nearby Bay Mills Farmers Market is a great place to find local eats and arts and is open Thursdays from 4pm-7pm August through October.
