From I-75 take the Easterday Ave. Exit and turn west (left). From here stay on West Easterday Ave./West 4th Ave./Oak St./West 16th Avenue for 3 miles. The Algonquin Cross-Country Ski Trail parking lot will be on the south (left) side of the road.

Birding Information
At Algonquin Ski Trail, take a hike through hardwood forest any time of the year. Here you might flush a ruffed grouse or spot one of the warblers that call this place home during the summer including blackburnian, black-and-white, Tennessee, Nashville, yellow-rumped, black-throated green and pine warblers. The trail winds through several wetlands where you might spot waterfowl such as Canada geese, mallards or common mergansers. Other species that have been observed at this site include sandhill cranes, American bitterns, common yellowthroats and white-crowned, white-throated, song and swamp sparrows. The diversity of forest habitats also offers you the chance to see species such as golden-crowned kinglets, American robins and broad-winged hawks.
Area Information
The Algonquin Ski Trail provide year-round recreational opportunities. During the summer, you can hike the trails to the nearby wetlands. In the winter, trails are groomed for skiing and snowshoeing. This property is situated adjacent to Little Traverse Conservancy's James Donaldson Moore Nature Preserve.
